Good total falco! No recovery day after your half Mrsb?! Well run but look after that body! Quite a frost early this morning but no ice on roads; fields and trails white and still. |

Well done everyone, keep going through the horrible weather etc! I am up to 775, but am going to be having a quiet week prior to a 10k race on Sunday. Fingers crossed for arriving at the race feeling fresh. 7 weeks to do 125 miles to hit my (revised) target for the year. |

Well done AndrewD just 17 miles a week, nice and sensible. A couple of 3 or 4 mile slow runs will be ok still this week.

Well done everyone!! Oh no FF, hopefully you get over the cold soon. I was battered by wind and snow yesterday when I was up a local hill, it was icy underfoot too. Need to get used to winter running again |

First run in NZ a little hill nicknamed "centre of New Zealand". Boy I'm stiff after the travelling.

FF - get well soon and keep your bugs to yourself! Hillstrider - I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to running trail and running in the dark, so combining to two means mega wuss! Also, when I signed up for this a half marathon was something I did every weekend (at least), now it seems quite a long way! I'm OK about my time. It wasn't about running fast but I did finish in front of people who would normally finish before me 2hrs 12 for the record. |

MrsB, I'm not a fan of running in the dark, but I love trail running. Your time was very respectable, and to be honest, finishing times are not that important in multi terrain races, unless you are hoping to win the race. To finish a tough race is an achievement in itself. I believe that I have now "turned the corner" with my injury, as I ran 8 miles in the forest yesterday morning with two club mates. I'm obviously slower than before, but making good progress. My mileage has now crept up to 949, so I'm optimistic that I will make the 1,000, with time to spare. |

What an adventure Peter! Too bad about that cold Fenland, always a bloody nuisance when they strike! Looks like you really are back on track hillstrider. I love the dark and I love the trails--more than half my running is done on trails--but roads are ok too and of course I have to run along streets to get to the trails! Sod running a half marathon race every weekend--if I'd done that I would never have achieved a 1.21 half, (my ultimate pb..in 1984)-- races prior to that were weekly 10k at the most with an occasional 10 mile race in mid programme and a means to an end for a fast half. I think I'll reach my 1,200 with no problem --unless illness or injury strikes). |
