There's some serious creativity needed to post suggestions which can fill in some of the gaps in the distance badges. You can get 29 badges as you log your first 1,000 miles, but once you reach Sydney (10,571 miles), which I did last year, it is over one thousand miles to the next one (Christchurch at 11,804 miles). I know the "easy" early ones are good to encourage anyone starting out, but the feeling that I am unlikely to earn a single distance badge in 2020 is a bit of a downer.

Don't want to spoil it for you synge, but wait til you hit 13000 (once round the moon), then have to wait 10000 miles (5 years min for me) for once round venus... Ooops spoilt it

I see VJ has already beat me to the spoiler on a blog today - in better news, only 1800 miles after venus, you get once round the earth, then wait 24000 miles for twice round the earth...

oumaumau - You missed out once around Mars (13256 miles) Anyway, because I know what I am aiming for with the Venus badge (23617 miles) and I know that I am currently on total logged mileage of 20585.2, I'm targeting a cumulative mileage of 3031.8mi for the rest of the year, which I should be able to do. And this gives me motivation. Which is the point of the badges? If I didn't know what I'm aiming for, I'd be less inclined to have the target to work to. And it's the same with the others. I don't like surprises. |

more a mistype, than a miss-out rf... I find the badges totally pointless, but then I'm of a certain age, and a curmudgeon so hardly surprising
