If my local party is at all representative (safe Conservative seat, safe Conservative council) I would be quite surprised if the number of members nationwide is as high as 70 000 - that would imply more than 100 per constituency. Entryism unlikely to be a problem as the members don't have much of a say on national matters - just selecting councillors and the like.

Move the HoC anywhere in or north of the Midlands, or Cornwall. Not sure of the propriety of having it in Wales, Scotland or NI.

Why not outside England? Of course you can have your English parliament wherever you choose, once someone's grown the balls to set it up

There's a Parliament Street in Nottingham, so it'd be perfect!

There's one in York too. And wan't York the capital city of England for a couple of years under one of the King Edwards? As well as being the capital of Brittania Inferior within the Roman Empire. Who needs devolution - just move the capital! |

Brittania Inferior has a nice ring to it. All the sane parts of the UK could stay in the EU and Brittania Inferior could leave....
