The authority for housing is delegated from the NI Assembly not the council. But crack on. Fill your boots.

Prior to the creation of the housing executive, public housing was the responsibility of local councils in Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Housing Trust. Also the NI housing executive was conceived by the NI Labour party and it was the support of a British Labour prime minister that eventually led to it's creation. It was well known years ago that Social housing in Northern Ireland was underfunded. A report published in June 2010 by Queens University Belfast states that social housing in Northern Ireland is not adequately funded and breaches international human rights. You could argue that Labour helped to create the body that was responsible for failing to ensure that this tower block was safe, while Sinn Fein turned a blind eye and absolved themselves of any responsibility. |

So in other words, SFL, every government of every political persuasion, and every political party who has been in opposition during those times, is culpable for either doing or saying nothing? Good thing nobody actually died in this one, then, even though a few people were taken to hospital. I hope they recover quickly. |

Someone burns his toast and it's Jeremy Corbyn to blame Seems like a reasonable premise for political debate..... |

NI Labour Party. Nice one. Absurdist argument that can be extended to blame Theresa May for the Corn Laws. |

Jesus, I thought I made my view on this clear on page 799 when I said "For the record, I don't think Sinn Fein were to blame for the fire, but if it was a Tory Council I would guarantee that Corbyn would have claimed that the Tories were."

"Someone burns his toast and it's Jeremy Corbyn to blame" Someone had a faulty fridge and Teresa May is to blame. |

SFL - you are normally a feisty and strong debater, but here I get the feeling you're in a hole and you're still digging... we've all been there!

He may be well intentioned but Corbyn is a sinner, not a saint. A promotor fidei has never been more necessary. |
