I think people underestimate the potential for delusion and self-denial. Most people don't actually see the direct effects in their face - it is only around 1% remember - and even of those who do, plenty might not care. After all, they'd have to effectively admit they were wrong to vote the way they did, and people don't like doing that.

There are a lot of idiots in the US who are continuing to see this from a conspiracy theory perspective - big government looking to take away their freedoms. Interesting that they are continuing to class gun shops as "essential retailers". You do see rubbish around relating Covid to 5G rollout as well. I can't even begin to get into the mindset of someone who thinks that is a thing.
