There's a vacant lot in Huddersfield where the sports centre used to be. Could readily build a new house of lords on that. Lovely it is, right on the ring road, 400 metres from the station where you can shit trains to nowhere.

Fellrunning: Roy Budd's minimalist soundtrack adds even more menace to an outstanding film.

Reform the lords first, then the size and location of the building can be determined.

Not much chance of the Tories reforming the Lords, Swits - all the old Tories are there and they can use them when necessary. My guess is Cummings wants them somewhere where a few dog whistles to the locals could bring out protestors against the lords trying to frustrate “the will of the people” - I think that takes us to about 1935 now doesn’t it ☹️

Limited number of “acceptable” places to have it imo, deffo not north or west of Birmingham, not south of Uxbridge (obvs). A1 corridor somewhere would be my bet....

Steady on. there's north where they talk a bit funny and then there's taking a good idea too far.

Anywhere that’s not “commutable” from that London will be a non starter (my noble Lords won’t want to actually live where it’s held). Somewhere up either west or east coast main lines, ideally not much more than an hour from central London. East Angular is too remote; oxbridge is too “educated liberal”, so my original predictions stand, although MK could get a shout or Manchester if Cummings forces the BBC to relocate more of its political staff to Salford as a “money saving” issue.

No chance of getting up to Settle, jda😂

The actual name of the west coast main line never fails to amuse me - Milton Keynes is about as far from the sea as it’s possible to get!

It's just trolling. Though it's good to see the tories have learnt something from the success of the brussels/strasbourg system :-)
