I want cheap effective nuclear fusion power and I want it now! And if the scientists can't deliver it by next Tuesday they should be out of a job!

TMW - I'm glad you're still on here commenting, we need someone to explain the views of 52% of the referendum voters.

Personally I think we are now in a complete mess that not even the most brilliant civil servants will be able to extract us from. We are starting to see the effects with the stagnation of growth and industries such as construction and manufacturing suffering. Neither Boris or Corbyn seem to have the skills or inclination to sort this out. I think both of them want the chaos to continue because it helps with their "blame everyone else" agenda to further their own narcissistic strategies. I truly hope my "negative waves" are wrong but would you trust either of these two with planning a dish-washing rota let alone overseeing negotiations with 27 united EU countries with their seasoned negotiators?

I wake up this morning and find grabbing women by their neck and dragging them out is now the new dividing line between left and right. Christ. So millkshaking Farage is not ok and manhandling women is? (I don't think either is, to be consistent). Explains why Trump and his "pussy-grabbing" and Bannon and Liddle and their pregnant partner beating are now dismissed with a wave of the hand. Just keeping the chattel in order is that it? FFS Like #MeToo never happened.

Britain leaving the EU is clearly *not* impossible. And the "costs" are always debatable - if you want to ignore or discredit the experts, then you can magic the costs away. The story you then tell is that we will leave / have left the EU and we have created this agreement and that deal and you can spin a story of success.

It's all about how you tell the tale. Facts barely come into it, not in general election voting and the greasy path to personal power.

If an uninvited person is shouting and rushing towards the Chancellor of the Exchequer, regardless of gender (of either), i would sort of expect them to be stopped as you have no idea of intent. An untrained person stopping someone may be heavy handed as they arent used to restraining techniques, so perhaps the real issue is they didnt have enough professional security at the event to mitigate this sort of thing. I havent restrained an adult in a situation like this but if i did i suspect i would fail to get it just right. You dont have time to plan it. We now have the luxury of examining the footage and, perhaps depending on our political persuasion, can instantly judge and light up twitter. Clearly, some opposition politicians will be gleefully making judgements. I am currently party neutral by the way.

I would think very, very carefully about laying hands on ANYBODY in ANY kind of situation. And I wouldn't trust or want to be near anybody who would do otherwise.

Surely "Get the eff out of here" and "I'm calling security" would have sufficed? But yeah I see why Bannon and Trump are running the show now.

Mr Field seems to have had his fifteen seconds of fame. He's in deep water now, I think.

TomahawkMike makes a telling point about potential threat. C & R training is, in my experience, carefully regulated and given professionally.

Name-calling will be called out, and Ad hominem will be frowned upon. :-) And whatabout-ery sits somewhere above responding to tone and below contradiction.
