Le Tour does seem to be wide open for a surprise result this year, from someone off the radar who bags a decent breakaway haul of seconds and then hangs on to the end, so someone like TJ could do well. Or the alternative is that it is neutered by all teams because of that openness, and it's just won on a time trial. |

I think I managed to perform worse in the Dauphine than I did in the Giro, and I didn't think that was possible - especially as I was on top of the League on the first day! 5431th out of 5541 (98th centile) vs 16535 of 18637 (88th centile) Basically, if you want to know in advance who will underperform, who will crash out and DNF etc, just ask me for my prescience! |

Sorry about that Chrisull, i put it down to my random make the numbers up Quentin Pacher who seems to have got 15 points somehow from a breakaway and being 2nd in an intermediate sprint.

And another Ineos rider hits the deck G in the TT at Suisse OK but having medical attention. Better wrap the rest in cotton wool for a couple of weeks. |

Even assuming G is uninjured, missing the rest of this race will hurt his prep surely? This could be either the most epic and open TdF or the most dull. No-one looks like they want to win the damned thing! |

That's two of Gobi's team down already. And we haven't even started.

Sounds like he's still OK for the Tour, but he'll be under-raced (though fresher than he might have been?) Nearly time to be thinking about picks for the Velogames game. Is the smart money on someone doing a Carapaz, or are the tried and trusted picks the ones to go for I wonder? |
