For "Stoner" fans, a nice imagining of a different future, had Williams "Stoner" and not Bellow's "Herzog" and the romantic novel been the determining influence on American Literature (the "Great but unruly American novel (Herzog) vs the perfect but minor American novel (Stoner)")

Currently reading Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata. It’s only short, but going through it very quickly -started it last night and almost finished - it’s been a while since I’ve read a book that I don’t want to put down this much!
