Just finished Catch-22, it gets very dark in the final 150 pages. They also provided much needed clarity for the story. I spent much of the book wondering what the hell was going on but in the end all the insanity and absurdity made sense in it's cynicism. I'm looking forward to George Clooney's TV series adaptation in the summer now.

I'll be seeking out Closing Time, Catch-22's sequel when I get home from my holiday and find out what happened to those who survived after the war.
