All universities will be working on ways that things can change so that students are not disadvantaged at the moment. If your university hasn't yet published guidelines (go look, if you haven't had emails), they should soon. We are working and working and bending over backwards to make sure that everyone has a fair shot at graduating/progressing. We are also scared shitless of complaints. Students, you have more power than you think.

Matt and Carp- it might not come easily to you, but start to make a noise. How can I meet my learning objectives without access to resources? The virus means I cannot work productively at home, etc.

My uni has allowed mitigating circumstances claims because of the virus without any documentation, rolling submission (submit when you want, before a July deadline) without any penalties, so although we say that deadlines are not moved, in effect they are.

It definitely feels as though my university is trying desperately to make it work too LindsD though every time they come up with a plan and communicate it the government bring out something different which then means starting all over again :-(

We have told students to ask for extenuating circumstances, but admin are not requiring any evidence, so when a student asks me, I direct them to apply for ECs and then automatically give the extension. Reduces the stress all round (I hope).

I'm not ready for rolling submission yet, my keen ones would drive me crazy.

My lab technicians were supposed to get some final data from the lab on Friday, but they can't, so I'm off to make up some data.

I know that our poor lecturers are tearing their hair out trying to get through this too. I emailed a small question to my supervisor, who doesn't work Mon and Tues so I didn't expect a reply until tomorrow but I got one.

The hospital library is in the middle of the hospital. I do not want to go in there unless I'm already going in and out of the building. I'm going to have to get used to different ways of working, lots of us are in the same boat. My OCD and having set ways of doing things makes this hard but I'm not the only one. I'm just envious of those who have always been able to get on with stuff from home and use ebooks instead of bookmarks in paper ones!

Carp - I'm not bad with online library, ebooks etc but not studying now and struggling to get to grips with Jabber and Teams and the like to enable me to give a better service to students whilst wfh.
