Nothing sad about acknowledging the wishes of fledgling core teams of volunteers with the ambition to bring running to new places and new audiences.

I did the inaugural Laytown Beach today. They had welcomed anyone and weren’t keeping it quiet. It’s on the East coast of Ireland just north of Dublin.

All beach flat. It is tide dependant so check it’s on before going. I don’t think there will be one next week. It’s out and back twice.

Got something to say?

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
