California country park is a very nice parkrun. It's a bit of a walk from the car park so allow a bit more time (especially as their was only had one parking machine working when we went)

Cheltenham finally got its second parkrun today, King George V Playing Fields. I was looking forward to RDing at a nice quiet Cheltenham parkrun while everyone went to KGV but it seems virtually everyone took on board the 'don't swamp the inaugural' message - we had 521 runners, they had 85 :-) Nice gentle start for them, which is great. I bet their numbers grow pretty quickly though.

That's good for Cheltenham. Hopefully Swindon will follow the same pattern soon.

The new parkrun I am helping with, Squerryes Winery parkrun at Westerham, Kent started today. We look forward to welcoming tourists but please don't all rush at once as we were very busy today. We had 227 runners and were down to our last 2 spaces in the overflow car park. The landowner was please d because his new café did well today. If you want to buy wine or beer to take home after the run hang around until 10am when the Westerham Brewery / Squerryes Winery building opens. There was a long queue for the toilet before the run as we did not have access to the toilets in the brewery building before 10am but I am sure this issue will be sorted out in the near future.

One week in and I notice that Castle Howard are already struggling to get volunteers this weekend. Would any of those that ran last week be able to assist?

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
