Me and jock were at the memorial park at the weekend and said it would be a good place for parkrun. Can’t wait for that!

Molesy, anyone can start a parkrun, you just need a park (preferably with parking and a cafe), an understanding council, a bit of cash (sometimes this comes from the council), and someone to make it happen. If you want a parkrun in Yateley how about scoping out a park and seeing if some of your friends will help you set one up?

Hi Chunky. Yes, it was just out of interest, I haven't lived in Yateley for nearly 20 years.

I'd suggest a Wokingham/Arborfield one but the council would just regard it as a massive opportunity to rake in the parking charges and fines.

Molesy, which park in Wokingham/Arborfield? The council are really supportive and yes they like the car parking fees but people can also run/ walk/ cycle there to avoid these.

I must admit I'd forgotten about California.

I was thinking of something on the old Garrison site.

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
