And nearby, at Kinross, news of a 2.5 km loop being constructed, specifically to be suitable for parkrun lochlevenslarder.com

Will this be the first purpose-built parkrun course?

Yes, the owner at Loch Leven Larder is a runner and has been very supportive of having a parkrun from there. It will be great. Loch Leven is beautiful and the Larder will make a good venue for those wanting coffee and cake after.

Going to pop along to Lochore Meadows inaugural this weekend, if I can. Will be my closest (not much closer than Dunfermline) and flattest (much, much flatter than Dunfermline! And even a bit flatter than Kirkcaldy, which is further away). Yay! :-) G

Lol Dv. You suggesting the Courier isn't the font of all knowledge. A simple read of History and parkrun web would probably have told them 2006 in Busy (or whatever it was - I haven't bothered to Google, Wikipedia or parkrun.org it either. But then I'm not a paid journo!) :-) G

Only update spotted is that Lanark apparently has funding secured. Previous post had said they hope to have the event ready to launch mid August. Not keeping a low profile on news front.

Just noticed that none of our lists have Aberdare or Chepstow/Severn Bridge on them.

I believe that Aberdare is imminent enough to have a date. If you happen to be in Wales during the summer holidays, it should be in a settled state by then.

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
