The locals get a book of Bressay tickets much cheaper. Maybe the parkrun tourist groups should invest and pass them around. And they only charge one way, so the economical parkrunner could 'warm up' with a bracing swim.

A book would cut the cost considerably for the regular parkruner. The fare, as I read it, is always a return, so even if you are only going one way swim, you have to buy the return.

It seems the crossing is easily kayakable, although I suspect that even in sheltered waters in Shetland, it might not be possible every week ;-).

They charge on the outward leg, most Shetland Ferries seem to do the same. Don't think they bother checking coming back!

Excellent, but I think I'll wait for the dry season before trying it out!

Whinlatter today. I committed marshalling fuckwittery that resulted in the front runners doing part of the route in the wrong direction, some of them twice, and ending up a little short. Nice route, though, and it's likely to go in at the top of the Hardest Parkruns League with about 700ft of climbing.

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
