Was at a meeting for a potential new park run tonight. I'm not really a meetings person. I guess they are necessary but ...

Actually, I'm not even sure about that. There's quite a few people here started up parkruns, did you have lots of group meetings on the way? Or did the ED and maybe one or two others do the spadework and anyone else on the core team just do the actual event day stuff?

As I recall the donkey work was done by the EDs and the parkrun ambassadors. We didn't have a core team meeting in advance - we had a Facebook group.

Good to see Billericay starting in a few weeks. Hopefully it will take a bit of the strain off of Chelmsford. Mind you, I said that when Great Notley started!

Does anyone know how long it takes Fetch to add a new parkrun to the race finder? Pitchcroft started on Saturday but it's not listed. I didn't run on Saturday (volunteered) but hopefully will be doing the next one.

I asked this of Fetch when Lancaster started last year. If I recall correctly, they find there way on about Tuesday/Wednesday following the inaugural - it's all to do with the low profile policy that parkrun has for the first runs.

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
