They wouldn't have needed padding if they could have been bothered to kill off Cersei properly. If they'd actually made use of Arya and her abilities for a start.

Actually that was one of the things I really liked about the last episode, that Cersei died in such a low key way. Almost literally crushed by her own stupidity/stubbornness. I was glad that Arya didn't kill her, she'd done enough killing.

I liked how it ended, but like a lot of people I wasn't sure about how they got there.

thought the ending was fairly obvious, but really what else could they do? the whole thing has been set up for the 'morally honourable' dynasty to win.

people petitioning calling for it to be remade? aye, fuck off and get over it, it's only a telly show end of the day....

Petitions..as useful as chocolate fire guards.

I just find it incredible to believe that Jon, being discussed openly in front of him, about what to do with him, didn't just shout, "I AM THE RIGHTFUL HEIR YOU BOZO'S" or something along those lines. But that would have required a few more episodes I expect.

It needed an ending that shocked, not one that fizzeled out and left you feeling like you've just turned up at a pub only to realise they have already called last orders.

True on petitions mph. Not worth a jot

Does anyone remember the ending to the last Lord of the Rings film? The torrid 30 mins of goodbyes?

Maybe this one was ok?

I do Homer. Awful.

If any series could pull off a mouth open, left aghast at some unexpected ending, it was this one, shame.

I agree LN. I also liked that Cersei & Jaime came into the world together as twins, and left it together in each others arms.

I felt the whole season lacked any sense of pacing, but the end tied it all up satisfactorily. There was no way they could have ended it and kept everyone happy

The story was always going to end the way it ended. Anyone who complains otherwise is deluded. My problem is the clunky storytelling because they tried to cram in too much into too few episodes. Giving the end story space to breathe and develop would have made a massive difference.
