Like a bubble in an aquarium, a long overlooked 'key album' will rise to the surface of my consciousness. These 'bubbles' come from posts on the 'Listening' and 'Saturday' threads here; from following 'rabbit holes' and finding more obscure work by artists; on TV, the press, and personal recommendations.

There are probably half a dozen albums that will be ever present on my 'Best' list but, as Fields says, it's easy to accommodate other great music according to mood, memories and mind. :)

'Fine' being the appropriate word:

The finest hour that I've ever known
was finding a pound on the underground

The album's only about 30 minutes long too isn't it? One of my go-to albums every now and then.

Band On The Run is a fine album and has a special place in my childhood memories.

I think childhood memories are important, the records my folks got from the library and recorded onto cassette and then played in the car on long car journeys have a special significance for me :-)

I was joking about Wings and I own a copy of Band on the Run. No idea what best album I own is. 'Important' (at least at the time) albums there are quite a few. I remember my big brother giving me his spare copy of Sgt Peppers in 1967/8.

Got something to say?
