Slightly old news now, but surprised there hasn't been a comment yet on Cameron Bancroft's appointment as captain of Durham. I have always had a bit of a soft spot for Durham but if they can't find a better captain than him something is seriously wrong up there. How can he have the respect of the dressing room given his behaviour on the cricket field and more importantly in my view his later explanation of why he did it.

Even if Durham offered it (itself stupid) the shameless Aussie cheat should have said no - wants to keep a low profile, score runs, rebuild reputation etc. Odds that Aussie win the ODI WC with their cheats playing full roles...? |

(Son1 is now 23. We took him to his first Tigers game when he was 11 days old, and as season ticket holders to nearly every game thereafter for sevveral years. He was 3 years old before he saw Tigers lose. We've been comprehensively left behind)

Pleasing win for Derbyshire though after being 0-2 1 over into the season! Had assumed it was going to be a case of start as we mean to go on in that regard but came back very well. And from an England point of view captain Root getting some runs was good. |
