I have started stripping the wallpaper (painted lining paper) in the living room, using my new toy, a steam wallpaper stripper. Two hours work has removed one short wall's worth of paper, about one sixth of the room. This could be a long and boring job, but it's still better than coughing up the £600 the man wanted to charge me.

£600 to strip wallpaper? I’d expect it stripped and repapered or plastered for that!
Home from the allotment with frozen fingers and toes. Warming up with a glass of wine. Going to make soup next.

We had a bit of snow earlier but it's stopped and it hasn't settled.

I have bike commuted and been scared by a loud-jumping-up-at-me barking dog which the owner couldn't control.

Tried to return a missed call and got their voicemail again. I foresee voicemail ping pong for the next few days.

Quite, Fleecy. I assume he just didn't want to do the job. I'm regarding it as cross-training, going up and down ladders etc :-)

I have replaced the batteries in the TV remote.

The old ones were flat, so it wasn't working.
