Dill waves comes from a time a long long time ago when young McGoohan got to East Croydon station and just missed a train due to a delayed connection and he meant to type waves fist but mistyped it as waves fish and we have waved ever since. (that story may have some incorrct details, but it's near enough*

I have got into my PJ's twice this evening; after the first time, I got dressed again and went to the shop to buy milk.
