1 week into the new year, how is everyone doing?

Well Nutso has kicked it off with a half marathon which is fantastic news :-)

As for me, I have posted up my general running objectives (over there >>>) plus I have posted a blog about my 5 point plan to gain an overall improvement in health and wellbeing, which includes walking / running / swimming / cycling and yoga plus some other stuff involving core and circuits.
Last night I returned to my swimming class, still in the little pool whilst I build up my fitness to give me the confidence to swim a length across a deeper bit (my main fear). I am now running out of pool space as can only get 13m out of it - front crawl one way then scull back and repeat. Next week I need to somehow turn around without stopping and swim back to get my lungs used to a complete pool length of 25m before I hit the big pool and the lanes - scary!!!

Tonight I hope to test my ankle out again with a short run-walk.

In the meantime I need to take the dog for a walk and tick off day 3 of yoga.

Just over 40 weeks to Beachy Head.

Any other goals or challenges to add to the side panel.

Don't forget to update us on your achievements.

Have a great day.

I'm doing well thanks Wom, following my training plan and enjoying the easy weeks. Can't say any of my extra ballast has shifted yet but it's early days! Glad you've posted my goals in the sidebar, they're a good reminder.

Have you mastered swimming in goggles and putting your face in for the out-breath Wom? Made a big difference for me years ago to control that and realise that I could do a very leisurely front crawl rather than some manic thing.

Has Nutso blogged her HM? Have I missed it? Will go and find your blog now Wom.

Have a great day back at you.

Hi Mulbs, great to hear from you. I swim face in and am now at ease with the water, until I get out of my depth and then I have a panic attack (stems back to almost drowning in my teens). I have had many lessons over the past few years and have really moved on from being scared to get into the water to now floating around on my back or gliding through the water. I have had several panic attacks whilst snorkeling so only do it in the shallows now as almost took my OH under twice. It is an fear that I really want to conquer for many reasons but 1 of them is so that I can go to the pool whenever I want and swim lengths. This is my next step in my long recovery :-)
