I may not be able to run just yet but my healing might be considered Slow And Proud, perhaps? Enjoy the weather out there. Who's running in it? Who's waiting and/or wanting the forecast to turn to 'with occasional spells of rain'? |

Glad to hear you are improving. I'm trying to make up for my lack of miles from the beginning of the year but some runs are harder than others. |

Good to hear you're improving now dec, hope you can do more walking/running again soon. I'm trying to get back into some more regular training again after being a bit sporadic for the first half of the month. I managed my zigzag run again on Monday with an extra down and up - 11 miles, to be my longest run before my half marathon next month. I'd have liked to have done at least one more longer run but time not on my side so just keeping up with the plodding now. |

Hi SAPs, sorry I haven't been online since the marathon, unfortunately MiL decided after 5 days (after 6 weeks in hospital) in an care centre over my marathon weekend that she preferred the taste of hospital food more and was blue lighted in another critical state and taken straight to the resus unit. I am please to report that this 83 year old must have been a cat in a previous life having used up 3 lives in as many months. So I am now in catch up mode after supporting hubby and picking up the lion's share of domestic life again. I don't mean to sound horrible but MiL has spent more time in hospital in the past 16 months than at home. Hopefully the care team can retry the centre again to get her prepared for her next move which may not be home :-/ Anyhow, I have had a few lil recovery runs and Nala Dog has been allowing me to join her on her mooches, but it is now time to return to run club tonight and start planning for my 2 10km events. And after my 5km event just before my marathon I have to find a lot of speed in my treacle legs that are used to bimbling along for miles Hope the rest of you are keeping well and have less drama in your lives. Catch up properly over the bankholiday weekend - hubby is having a well deserved break away from everything whilst I remain in Sussex with Nala Dog, I am hoping that she is up for some spring cleaning as there is a lot to be done. |

I'm still not running But ... Nine and eight months after her SWMBO's haemorrhages she did her self-imposed, whilst in hospital waiting for brain surgery, challenge of doing 'At least 5, hopefully 10, miles' at yesterday's annual (local area) scouts sponsored Big Walk . The DOMS is beginning to hit her. I had to keep slowing her down, else she'd have burned out earlier [... and her pre broken-brained normal pace was painfully slow for me ]. But being a bit foo-sore ... oh so, worth it! Here's hoping everyone's reasonably hunky-dory and running well, with psychic hugs going out to those in want and need |

Wow decorum, well done SWMBO It is all very quiet on this thread at the moment, hope everyone is ok. All ok here, usual family and work stuff, and run mojo went awol but hopefully back again now after a 3 miler yesterday. The annual beach run is on Wednesday which I have signed up to - 5 miles on a pebble beach!!! I haven't done a report for April as only two of us added times - if others are pending then please advise and I will pop back in soon to type up the run report. |

Well done dec & SWMBO. Hope you're getting back on track now Wom, no slacking now, you've a lot of training to do before Beachy. Enjoy your race - you wouldn't catch me doing a race along any beach. I raced yesterday, I ran with the tailrunner who left me as we came onto the track at the end as she had to stay with an injured runner who'd slowed right down and I had to overtake. The good thing was that I managed to run for the first 2+ miles before my first walking break. I've entered my time on the sheet and if I remember I'll put one of my parkrun times in too. Some of us are doing Project Joker at the moment to try and speed us up a bit. |

Waves as Dec, Womble and Alpen and anyone else popping in. It was Windermere marathon yesterday and we had a good run, I think 6 hours 23 chip time which is ever so slightly faster than the previous two years here. I now have some absolutely corking blisters and some DOMS but not too achey. Well done SWMBO great to hear of her recovery. |
