for those of us with teens due to do GCSE and A levels, Ofqal have put a bit more detail in place today. this is the essence of it Should schools and colleges be setting students new work to inform the grade they submit? There is no requirement to set additional mock exams or homework tasks for the purposes of determining a centre assessment grade, and no student should be disadvantaged if they are unable to complete any work set after schools were closed. Where additional work has been completed after schools and colleges were closed on 20 March, Heads of Centre should exercise caution where that evidence suggests a change in performance. In many cases this is likely to reflect the circumstances and context in which the work is done. |

It sounds like good news for my ds1 as he worked consistently hard throughout his A levels so hopefully that’ll be reflected in his final grades. It would be good to have a date though...

Don’t know about other schools, but pretty much every test ds1 has ever sat at college has marks logged online so even for a large number of students it shouldn’t take them that long, though some schools might be less organised and they probably need some form of moderation. Fingers crossed, ds1 got turned down by another uni despite his 3 A* prediction so he has no real insurance now. Bizarre.

ds3 seems to be in a pretty secure position but still unsure with ds2, though his insurance choice (Southampton) should be safe as they usually allow a grade drop if things arent quite how they should be
