Update on Daughter, L. Still in hospital, bloods OK, eating what she's told to, but nothing more and hasn't yet started to put on weight. I think she needs to scale back her expectations about when she could come home, as she has been thinking that this could happen when she finished her current eating plan that went to Sunday. She went into hospital as her height-for-weight ratio had dipped below 80 and she wasn't eating. Now she has started eating, but isn't gaining weight yet, though this is apparently normal - she's in a repair phase just now. We are getting hints about how hard her recovery will be from how much supervision the nurses need to do to make sure she eats and doesn't exercise. |

Thanks for the update, I had been wondering how you were getting on. I suspect a long road ahead, but good that you are on it!

It's a long road Groundhog, but at least she is getting treatment and isn't resisting it too much.

Thanks everyone. I've been very impressed with the Berkshire Eating Disorder Service. They called today and will be in touch every day until she's back home, then meeting 1 or 2 times a week.

That really does sound like she’s getting the help she needs. Fingers crossed for as few bumps in the road possible.
