I've just entered a half marathon for the end of October. Went to put it in my diary on my phone and see that there's already a 10 miler paid and entered on the same date. Why didn't I realise that i had 2 races on the same day when I entered it into my Fetch race portfolio?!

I've done that before, minardi. The year I ran the Chester marathon I was simultaneously DNSing the Great Cumbrian Run.

Driving into work this morning and my mobile goes. Work call so i decided not to answer and let it ring. Told my colleague that I hate it when that happens as I can't see my digital speedometer so don't know how fast I am driving. She laughed and pointed at my dashboard and the standard speedometer which was in plain view.

Went to the kitchen to make a pot of tea, came back to the lounge, sat down at the computer and realised i didn't have the tea cosy. Went back to the kitchen, not there. Back to the lounge and realised that i had been sitting on it.

I lost my car keys - in the car. I'd moved from front to back to change socks and put on extra clothes to go cycling, then spent fifteen minutes trying to locate the keys. Eventually I got down on the back floor and could see that they had slipped down between two seats where the seatbelt things are. I then had to climb in the boot to retrieve them. Meanwhile, the rain has become progressively heavier and i don't think I want to  anymore  Can't decide whether I have been saved or deprived.

Of course I didn't forget the barefoot marathon lady Anna McNuff was running through Bishops Cleeve this morning .. that would be silly. So I didn't run along the bypass and find myself passing her and her entourage as they headed in the other direction.

Today i ran the Goose Fair Gallop, just off junction 27 on the M1. At the end we got a goody bag, which i carried to where my club mates were standing. I noticed they were drinking water and eating bananas. Where did you get those i asked? Just after the finish i was told. So i walked back to the finish, and saw a box with a few bananas and a dozen or so water bottles in plastic wrap. Not much for 300 runners i thought, taking one of each. Went back to my friends and noticed that there was also a banana and water bottle in my goody bag.
