it's interesting, isn't it? Someone did have a theory a month or two back, but my memory isn't what it used to be and I don't recall what it was.

[I have a theory ...

The more senior you get the more cups of tea and coffee you make and (sometimes also) drink.

That is my theory, it is mine and belongs to me, and I own it and what it is, too.]

It's the time delay (wait for kettle to boil / drink to cool) plus at least 3 different storage areas plus autopilot complacency. Probably.

I always ask visitors if they'd like tea or coffee and by the time I've taken mugs out of the cupboard I've completely forgotten!

Went for a nice cup of tea. Put teabag in cup. Poured coffee in cup. If only it had made toffee.

It does seem to be a hot drink kind of thing as noted by um. The other morning I took out of the cupboard a cereal bowl and a mug, you can guess which receptacle I almost spooned the coffee into.

At around 1:30pm today, after Mrs WM and I had sorted our train tickets and done various other bits of 'admin' for our forthcoming holiday, I announced I was getting hungry and was going to go and make my breakfast (no hot beverages involved).

Dropped in at the doctor's to try to arrange a Shingles Jab, which I should get at 70. the receptionist went to see the nurse and came back to inform me that I had had it in June.
