Taken to posh health club as late birthday treat. Shared a locker and noticed it had someone’s name on it: noticed they all had names on them, you must be able to hire them. Then noticed First name was Kit: unusual. Hang on Kit has hired the locker next door too. Hang on surname is locker ...

If I’m on an early train I wear my glasses first thing. Contact lens case in workbag last night so I used a spare case which I’ve used several times in the last month. Left Eye really watery this morning so popped out gas permeable lens. Two lenses appeared on my hand, no idea which is the correct one and which eye it’s for or how long I’ve had two in one eye but failed to notice ...

Contact lenses are the cause of many of my senior moments. I spent ages the other day looking for one that I'd dropped. In the end I gave up, only to find it stuck on my cheek.

I really hate the idea of contact lenses. I can see the appeal over glasses, but the thought of putting something in my eye is bad enough, but trying to get it out again.....
