I don't know whether I have wide feet vs other runners but I've always found that New Balance long distance and XC spikes fit me well. My current track spike is the LD5000.

I had Nike Rival D spikes when I first started track running and they definitely squash feet.

I'm quite disappointed with the Trail Glove. After only a couple hundred kilometers, the area on the sole around the contact point is already worn out.

I thought Vibram soles were supposed to be hard wearing!

Oh no that's no blinkin good, yeah I thought they were too.
Maybe they've softened up the grip recently

Mine are a year or so old and seem pretty hard wearing - flip side of this is they are dicey to run with on wet roads though.

Not sure what else to recommend, I have found Brooks Pureflow 6's to be wide, flexi and really hard wearing and fairly minimal (esp with inner thingy removed) and only 4mm drop.
I've read that version 7 is slightly narrower in the toebox though.

What about Topo St-2's?

I know what you mean about wet roads. I've got road shoes that have better grip!

I'll have a look at the Topo, thanks!

I'm running in Topo ST-2s. I wear out soles in the same way you do and usually only get 200 miles out of a pair.

The topos so far are holding up surprisingly well compared to most other shoes I've worn

They look really good! Expensive though and I can't find them on ebay or anywhere cheaper.

Not tried them but how about Xero prios?
