I feel that in the last 4-5 years, Inov-8 have created too many different shoes only to discontinue them 12 months later. It's usually the ones I really like too!

I think that's a very common feeling SSLHP and symptomatic of what's driving the company. They want us all to constantly update our shoes to the latest model/colour pattern, all most of us want is to be able to keep buying a shoe that we've found that works. Sadly about the only company that bucks that trend is Walsh but their shoes are rather like marmite. You either love them or their last doesn't suit your foot and they rip your heels to pieces. :-/

The only tactic that I can suggest to counter it is that when you find last years mode/colour that you really like well discounted somewhere you stock up with several pairs and put them away until you need them. I did at one point have half a dozen pairs of x-talon 212s boxed up in the cupboard after finding them in my size at around 40% of the RRP. :-)

Yep, that's exactly what I do. I still have a pair of Road X 233s and F-lite 232s boxed up in a cupboard :-)

There's a reason we have about 50 pairs in various stages of use between us.

I want Inov-8 to make a road shoe out of the Trailtalon 235, with around 14/15 total stack height

Q on inov8’s- I’ve worn inov8’s for the past 6/7 years and have had 3 pairs of road (f-lites) and 1 pair of trails in that time all have been in a size 6.

Ordered some 235 f-lites today only difference is they are standard rather than precision fit the difference is that they have a wider toe box. Yet they feel small?

Is it that my current 2 pairs are worn in or maybe that they’re have a harder rim around the toe box (they seem a lot better made I have almost a thumb space in front of my big toe, measured sole to sole with the others they are the same length. Just worried they may prove too small once I’m running? Argh!! Any thoughts.

I find the same with the standard fit ones. I think some of it is that being wider they allow your foot further down the shoe.

I found the 235V2 (std fit) to be a tad longer than the old one (Std fit)

You mah have a thumb width standing up in them, but bend your knee and go onto your ball of foot -I bet you find your toe now is much nearer the end of the shoe. Thumb width is good

Thanks both would you think they’ll be ok when they bed in (my old ones are really flimsy now) or should I bite the bullet and cost to return and getting a size bigger?

don't think they'll get bigger or longer after 'bedding in'
