Flanker. My first pair of 250s (predecessor to 235) lasted 210 miles. But I'm taking a punt and have ordered the new 235s

My original comment about being disappointed with 235s should have read 250s (235 is the updated version which is a tad lighter)

Hello and good morning I am now 8 days... yes 8 days from losing this bliddy cast - YAH!!

So I’ve hooked a Lower limb rehab class with my Physio but I wondered if you had any good exercises for strengthening your feet? I was doing single leg squats (with a bit help from the wall) alphabets, I tried the toe yoga some of you recommended and rolled my foot on a ball but I thought I’d ask in case there is some other magic moves I can try.

I’ve finally got around to reading Born To Run what a phenomenal book!!! And I think a few barefoot drills will enter my life when I’m more fixed!! Thanks in advance as always.

Scrunching a towel with your foot is often recommended, I used to arch then flex the foot when sitting at work for a similar effect.

I do the ball massage before runs & like the alphabets and squats too :)

Good luck

Woo Hoo 8 days ☺

Agree with BanjoBax.

Also I think the wobbly balance stuff helps foot strength - like one legged deadlifts, standing on one leg eyes closed, standing leg swings against a resistance band.....

Also stand up desk if have a sit down type job!

Forgot I used to brush my teeth one legged too, one minute each leg.

Thanks for the other suggestions Claypole, lots to work towards. I also do one legged tooth brushing- handy when the toothbrush does the timing.

Don’t think I’d get a standing desk though.

Has anyone had a chance to try out the Altra Vanish-R? I can't find any in shops so I'm tempted to just order a pair from Sportsshoes. I'm not waiting till the price drops (if ever). I've run out of lightweight zero drop options and the pairs I have are all wearing out quick.

Hey Snayak

Not tried them myself, but a club mate got some and he's pleased.

He uses other Altra shoes for longer distance like marathon, his only comments so far are that the Vanish R feel like nice light racing flats.

Hope you enjoy them if you get some :-)
