Yes, me too. He looked like a schoolboy who had been caught smoking behind the bikesheds.

Not Farrel in particular just seems a team thing, figuring stuff out, stopping doing something that is palpably not working and doing something else seems beyond us.

The Wales and Scotland things this year, breakdown and penalty conceding madness last year, Italy ‘no ruck’ tactics year before.

Farrell is the 10. Everything goes through the 10. Decisions are made around the 10.

Farrell is the problem. I think Jones knows it but he also knows Farrell bri is other stuff to the team. England as they are will be smashed at sone point in the coming world cup.

Changes are needed. The 6 nations proved this.

I think Eddie Jones has to carry the can really. The players should know what to do, should have been coached and drilled, but they hadn't a clue. That's got to be down to Jones.

Not that I care, obvs, as the right team had won earlier. It was particularly nice to hear Gatland's interview afterwards. The gap between those two coaches could hardly be clearer.

They are professionals.

If the game is about being drilled it is an exceptionally poor game. Rugby is in the main a set piece game nonetheless but you must react and change. You need to be able to think about what is happening and change it, as I said Farrell gave himself away in the interview, Scotland had the momentum, yeah they did so change your game and stop it dumbfuck, even if that is boot it 50m down the pitch.

All team sports are about thinking on your feet and reacting well....Farrell cannot do this.

The TV commentary was equally stupid. Poor, very poor.

Can’t see it really being Jones fault. Team has looked fairly well prepared and Plan A and set piece basics have been good. That’s the coach’s job and he’s done pretty well. Game plan to exploit Ireland/France makeshift full backs was excellent. We’ve been in control and ahead every game at HT.

Issue has been when things change, when Plan A stops working because the oppo, quite reasonably, change things. Coach can’t influence that from the dugout, players have to figure that out on the pitch. We haven’t.

Wilkinsons comments after the England game were bang on. his opinion was they just kept trying to do the same thing, i.e. playing wide expansive 'attractive' rugby when in the second half route one narrow stuff would have been the thing. It's about changing the way you play to win.

then you listen to AWJ speaking post match sounding like a coach, it's a world away from caught in the head lamps Farrell.

I agree with TRO, but let's have some realism here, the only match England lost was against Wales who went on to win the tournament, the three matches England won they looked strong and unbeatable, and what happened in the match against Scotland is just like TRO said, Scotland had figured out England's A game and changed things, making it difficult for them in the second half as Scotland, in true Braveheart style came back roaring.

I've never liked Farrell as Captain, he just doesn't seem to fit in that team position.

There are a few in that team who might be as good if not better. Change needed if they are to do well. Never sit still.
