This is a place to record your HR as of this minute and anything else that is of consequence. This could be weight, blood pressure, inside leg, anything you want. Just keep it vaguely sensible :-)

Stress Levels are permissible. The index is:

1 - Calm and unruffled. Cheerful, sunny demeanour.
2 - Keeping cool, but not exactly full of joy
3 - As long as I don't have to talk I'll be fine
4 - Mildly pissed-off
5 - Slightly irritated. Tension and anxiety beginning to increase
6 - Annoyed. I'm keeping a lid on it, but only just
7 - Angry. It won't take much to set me off
8 - Keep the fuck out of my way. Stressed.
9 - Incandescent with rage
10 - One step closer and I will tear your lungs out

Interesting that on your scale, 8 out of the ten are all showing some sort of negativity. Might that not skew the results, if they were ever output in graphical format?

maybe the descriptions of the scale say more about your stress level at present than the number?

I think once you've moved away from 'not at all stressed', there is no option but for there to be a negative slant, is there?

Fancy that eh? Perhaps that's indicative of my less-than-chirpy view of things right now. Any suggestions as to how the index could be improved?

Hang on though, Pudds is correct. There is much more scope for varying degrees of negativity - isn't there?

Given that, as a species, we're far more predisposed to list the ways we're hacked off, stressed out, or whatever about something or someone, I guess it's natural for the scale to be predominantly negative. I was only pointing it out.

We could go for, however: (but since I didn't start this thread, and since Northern Exile sounds like he might remove my breathing apparatus, feel free to completely ignore them)

1. Running up to complete strangers and telling them you love them
2. Bouncing around singing out loud
3. Singing, but inwardly. Still smiling though.
4. Calm, unruffled, cheerful.
5.Cool, ambivalent, "meh".

and then all the "arrrghhh" options.

About This Thread

Maintained by Northern Exile
This is a place to record your HR as of this minute and anything else that is of consequence. It's also the best place to record your current level of euphoria or, more likely, frustration. You can rate that on the Northern Exile Index (NEI):

1 - Calm and unruffled. Cheerful, sunny demeanour
2 - Keeping cool, but not exactly full of joy
3 - As long as I don't have to talk I'll be fine
4 - Mildly pissed-off
5 - Irritated. Tension and anxiety beginning to increase
6 - Annoyed. I'm keeping a lid on it, but only just
7 - Stressed - keep out of my way
8 - Angry. It won't take much to set me off
9 - Incandescent with rage
10 - One step closer and I'll tear your fucking lungs out

Additionally, now that the rate of COVID 19 infections is on the rise you have the opportunity to rate your current status or simply your level of incredulity. Choose as many as you like

CVI 1 - I'm safe. Do your fucking worst virus!
CVI 2 - Worried about other family members
CVI 3 - Kids are driving me nuts
CVI 4 - Alright, I'm bored now
CVI 5 - Angry at the Goverment's response
CVI 6 - Even more angry at Anti-Vax wankers
CVI 7 - Been in my PJs all week
CVI 8 - Developing bedsores
CVI 9 - Feigning symptoms to avoid domestic tasks
CVI 10 - Got symptoms :-(
