The pills are possibly more likely to be hidden away in Aunty Shula's spare bedroom from when he stayed there - and she won't have been in to look. I wouldn't be surprised if given the terms of Freddy being on license and Lower Loxley not having a licence (I am not sure if I have got the correct licences/ses there) he might decided he wants to go back and live at the stables anyway. After all, Cranford Chrystal isn't going to give him the grief that Lizzie, Lily and Russ will!

She manipulates Tom quite a bit and despite being caught out with the credit card bill bought an expensive bottle of wine... I can see Tom being convinced to remortgage Bridge Farm...
