Sorry the way I have worded my post has caused confusion

It was a 14 mile mainly off road race the plan was to go at a pace slightly slower than last 1/2 marathon and see wher I am at

No need to apologise, and if honest I knew just about what you meant...I've had my fair share of pendantic replies on here so thought I'd have a go!

How did the run go anyway, hope it gave you confidence for upcoming races 👍

Not as well as I wanted got a bit carried away at start and went to fast for first 3 miles or so ended up in no mans land till about nine miles till I got overtook by a couple and then by a couple more in the last mile

According to the benchmarks my 4 quickest half and 10k but I was faster in my marathon in April

Three lakes classic, yeah a friend of mine did that as well. I’m Sheffield based so quite near to you!

Looks from your HR trace that you gave it a bloody good effort, can’t change the conditions, well raced!

Today Shows me I am fitter than before last years November marathon (Rother Valley) but not as fit as when I ran Boston UK in April this year. So not a bad base to start marathon training in July.

3 lakes is a good event one I would recommend

I’ve had a look at the Rother Valley marathon too, but wasn’t sure I could cope with the laps. I ran a HM around Holme pierpont last year and didn’t particularly like the experience.
