I have no upper body strength either. And apparently I’m as stiff as a board from the waist down and it’s a wonder I can move at all.

After 2 days rebuilding a garden deck (inc. removing a tree!), and it's not finished yet, I'm currently soaking in a hot bath to try to ease the aches in my back and shoulders. And trying not to drop my tablet! Upper body strength is for lumberjacks and brickies, not runners! |

Stilldreaming
On our Club run on Thursday, I warned the other runners to look out for the uneven path (as it's a route I regularly run). Yup, you've got it ... I was the one who went over on their ankle and now has a very painful and swollen foot! (Didn't stop me running the 5 miles home without pain though ... what's that all about?)

[McG - on a forum in 'another place' we had a runner called herself 'Twiglet Legs'] We moved my Mum into her new sheltered housing flat the week before last. I discovered then how lacking my upper body strength was. After a day of shifting boxes etc. I was knackered and needed a soak in the bath like Markymarkmark. |

Aching after managing to do unaccustomed physical work is very different from having no upper body strength Stilldreaming, I hope you heal quickly. |

We had some trees chopped down a year ago and the resulting wood needs moving at some point. The green gym beckons 🌳

Going back a few pages, I remember the Billy Cotton Band Show, with the "lovely Cathy Kay." Wakey Wakey! Z Cars was another, and of course Dixon of Green "evening all." Apologies if any one else has mentioned these. I also used to watch the wrestling on Saturday afternoons with the likes of Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Jacky Pallow, Mick McManus, the hooded Kimo Nagassassi, and tag team Judo al Hayes and Rebel Ray Hunter.

I was trying to chop a branch with my long handled loppers earlier and found that the branch was stronger than my shoulder. Ouch!

I’ve got some with a geared cutting head. Remarkably effective.
