Fell race yesterday went pretty well, considering :-)

1. No bloodshed
2. My best time there for a couple of years

You’re right GlennR. Clearly a double whammy for posting a senior moment on the wrong thread!

I'm a happy bunny. :-)
Saturday - new parkrun PB. (by 3 seconds!)
Sunday - new 10 mile PB. (by 2 minutes!)

The 3 seconds is probably immaterial. I can get/lose that by standing in the wrong place at the start, and it's only stood since last November.

The 10 miler and 2 minutes improvement is more significant, since it was in 2013, and I've achieved a lot worse in the intervening years!

I can only attribute this to training harder - more "pushing" in short runs, running regularly with others who can hand me my dinner if they put any effort at all in, and taking myself purposefully up more hills a bit more regularly. (For "hills" read "railway bridges"!)

At what point do my training gains cross my aging decline, I wonder?

Nice M3.

I think my sweetspot was around my 54th birthday. It's been all downhill since then, at least physically.

In my case, MMM, it was probably late 60s to early 70s, but as I didn't start running until I was 58, the crossing-point of the two lines is likely to have been pushed on a bit.
