Fell race yesterday went pretty well, considering 1. No bloodshed 2. My best time there for a couple of years |

You’re right GlennR. Clearly a double whammy for posting a senior moment on the wrong thread!

I'm a happy bunny. Saturday - new parkrun PB. (by 3 seconds!) Sunday - new 10 mile PB. (by 2 minutes!) The 3 seconds is probably immaterial. I can get/lose that by standing in the wrong place at the start, and it's only stood since last November. The 10 miler and 2 minutes improvement is more significant, since it was in 2013, and I've achieved a lot worse in the intervening years! I can only attribute this to training harder - more "pushing" in short runs, running regularly with others who can hand me my dinner if they put any effort at all in, and taking myself purposefully up more hills a bit more regularly. (For "hills" read "railway bridges"!) At what point do my training gains cross my aging decline, I wonder? |

Nice M3. I think my sweetspot was around my 54th birthday. It's been all downhill since then, at least physically. |

In my case, MMM, it was probably late 60s to early 70s, but as I didn't start running until I was 58, the crossing-point of the two lines is likely to have been pushed on a bit.
