Poor from Sharp, probably shouldn't have let it come down to a sprint but she was still in a good position so I wonder if she just panicked and therefore tightened up when she felt the pressure.

She surely knew what was needed. It was so slow through 400 and never really picked up.

I’m no fan of hers, but that’s really disappointing for her given her form this year. I was starting to think she could put some performances down to back up her attitude. If she can’t cruise through a heat and dominate it as a runner of her pace should be able to, she doesn’t deserve to get championship plaudits.

Pleased for Butchart then ;-)

I don’t warm to Jacob, but he’s the sort of talent the IAAF needs as a poster boy. I suspect it will be appealed, but with three steps off the track onto a bend I doubt he’ll win it.

Hard to tell if Jakob got a push or just ran out of space in the inside. A shame.

I hope he gets reinstated, athletics needs talent like Jakob Ingebrigtsen.
