What Vrap said. Doping would have made whatever training he did more effective. Bulk doesn't indicate strength or power, although being bigger gives you more potential for absolute strength or power, power to weight is what is important when moving your own bodyweight. When most athletes do strength and power training the point isn't bulk although a bit of weight gain might be expected depending on starting point. I've read that Farah can squat 1.5 times for 6 reps for example and he's not bulky. Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting have weight classes and athletes in those classes are training to lift more while staying in that class, so if it's possible in that type of sport where the best are probably close to the limit of what can be done without increasing size (and yes doping would help), it's definitely possible in athletics. |

Talking power to weight, this article was written in Jun 2017 and as of that date, only six athletes had C&J three times their bodyweight, all around the 60kg mark so shows there's a bit of a sweet spot for power to weight even if being heavier means more potential absolute strength. barbend.com |

KJT and Dina both looking good for Doha. It's interesting that Miller-Uibo hasn't started her season yet and will be interesting to see how different athletes approach peaking for the champs this year. I agree with Cram re DAS though. |

Hutchings was worried that DAS might be peaking too early, Cram suggested it may just be where she's at in her career (young improving athlete Vs one already at their peak).

I'd think DAS is too sensible to be peaking too early. She is just better than the rest at this point in the year. She *could* plateau, but she isn't yet running PBs so there's plenty of trajectory yet to follow for normal season's development.
