bloody hell that second one is a long read SPR ! No way will I finish it.

Clearly I know he was guilty. However, if it wasnt just an allegation, why wasnt he found guilty as a result of these tests ?

There definitely was a degree of protection from the higher echelons of the UCI offered to Armstrong, partly borne out of the fact that it was certainly the case that doping was part of life for large numbers of the pro peloton in those days. And therein lies another of those lazy accusations - that there are certain individuals within athletics that get some sort of specialist protection (just because that's what happened with the UCI etc). Another evidence free claim!

UCI on why nothing could be done: independent.co.uk

If you read the previous links you'll understand why there was no B sample.

In any case the point was there was lots of evidence against Armstrong from various sources. The fact it took so long to do something about him is not a reason to call doping on specific athletes with no evidence.

Re: Liverpool Cross Country today, anyone know if on any tv channels? I’ve had a search but couldn’t find it listed. Should be great racing. Thanks

It's not been televised at any point in the past few years I don't think, so would be surprised if it was this year.

Did anyone watch Mo on Jonathan Ross this week? I was prompted to catch up with it as I read (on FB) that he'd confirmed a return to the track on the show. I knew his team were floating that possibility, but hadn't heard it confirmed anywhere.

I watched the show, and he was certainly goaded into saying something though I wasn't entirely clear on what - whether he was definitely doing the 10,000m at Doha after London, or whether he was still just looking for whatever looked like the best medal opportunity.

The odd thing is that if he did confirm Doha track return, I'm amazed none of the news outlets have picked up on that. Nothing on the major newspapers, nothing on LetsRun, nothing from a Google News search. I know it's not the biggest news in the world, but I'd have thought someone would have been reporting it. Or maybe his PR team talked it back after the show?

Would be surprised if that was confirmed now rather than in Spring.

That's what I thought - worth watching the interview, from memory it was in the third segment on ITV, so you have to watch some sets of adverts to get to it.

Did I hear on Marathon Talk that Jo Pavey was saying she was going to try and qualify for Tokyo - although not confirmed in what event yet - or have I imagined that?
