I think you're right SPR, I'm sure Kipsang and Kimeto ran negative splits as well when they broke the record. Even Paula Radcliffe's women's WR was a negative split if the information I've read is correct.

Apparently she'll be racing over 10000m on track next year.

That's a huge WR in decathlon - on a par with Kipchoge's achievement surely? Though it won't get the same press attention.

Not often too "good" WRs go down the same weekend.

Yes, interesting to see how long you can sustain Kipchoge's pace for. It's a 200m sprint on the track for me.
