I once had a hip flexor problem that responded very well to stretching.

As for winter running, the treadmill has been a bit of a godsend this past month. I wouldn't like to use it all the time but the option of an indoor run means I don't worry about the "really don't want to go out in this" days.

10M on gym bike follow by 10K on dreadmill.
I drank 2 litres and am still probably dehydrated.
Sorting that out in spoons, second run of the day looking unlikely.

15m on the dreadmill this morning, it was raining when i stepped out so i took the safer option. On the plus side the steady run on the treadmill helped keep my HR in Z3

sorry to hear puzzler, I had an issue like that 2-3 years and like jd says it was sorted after a visit to sports massage and stretching.

9.5 this morning with a run to and from parkrun and parkrun in the middle at 21:45, the runs there and back nice and easy at 9:12 and 8:6.

sod 15m on the treadmill (unless there is good entertainment to watch....

Puzzler, I have hip flexor issues (mainly from sitting too much at work I think) and there are a couple of straight forward stretches that reduce the tension. Google or you tube it, there are a number of variations on the theme. Good luck.

I haven't posted on here in ages (but did lurk weekly) as had an op and bit of ill health but back into it now and feels good to be running properly again. Trying to remove the weight for spring campaign!

Thanks for the supportive comments. I have a physio appointment tomorrow so will get the verdict then - and I’m resting up in the meantime.

It was cold, wet and miserable taking the dog out for a short walk just now, so good luck to anyone out today on a long run.

Well done anyone who's out there training in ice/wind/rain/snow.

Sorry about the radio silence for about a month there. A week's holiday, followed by a week of Christmas etc. meant I wasn't on much. I was running though. Then back to work, and I'm not running much, so I'm also not around much because of that. Anyway, all caught up now. You've all been extremely talkative.

I'll put up the Spring races now, so shout up.
