Oops, couldn't do the maths properly could I - yep, 4 x 45 mins recovery should be OK. But as you say, not pleasant in the dark hours.

I need to do a 24 hour relay event at some point, wonder if I could persuade SWMBO and eldest speedster son...

(Goes away to formulate a cunning plan)

Good luck Oscar and thanks for the wishes foljs.

Target is at a minimum sub-3:30 but by how much I genuinely don't know. Training gone well and I'm feeling good but know I'm not in PB shape. Will do my usual run to heart rate for first 13.1 and take it from there.... :-)

Oscar the grouch
3h41 today - big pb by 8 minutes. Ran really well and no big collapse albeit the last couple of miles were just over 9 minutes each. Right now that is about the limit of where my ability will get me, I think, without losing a bit of weight and such. Really pleased, paced it beautifully, overtook loads of people and only lost a couple of places in the last half mile when people got a spurt on. I am now enjoying a beer. :-)
