I did Wendover Woods parkrun #5 yesterday. Got my result before I got home and I only live about 14 miles away. 105 finishers and all inside 40 minutes. I wonder if the fact that it is a bit out of town, is definitely a hilly course and the weather forecast was bad (and correct!).

Maybe not the fastest last runner though, Moberly in the US had a single finisher in 37.45.

And it was the single finisher's first run at Moberly and he was also one of the two volunteers!

In the fastest last finisher stakes, the fearsome Drumchapel was 36.46 - and that was beaten by Ruchill in 36:02. Both venues obviously failing considerably in exhibiting the correct parkrun ethos. Er, ;-)

Moberly seems a strange one. Though when I saw that thought expressed elsewhere, some people got cross. It does seem to be lacking a degree of community engagement.

No parkrun for me, under the weather. Did volunteer at juniors though. A friend was doing her first ED stint, and it went very close to the wire in terms of getting volunteers. To the point of teetering on cancellation. (On the day

(oops) ... all went well in agreeable weather (a marked contrast to parkrun time yesterday) but if the run had been reliant solely on people volunteering for the joy, as per edict - well, it simply would not have taken place. (Actually, for me, fresh air and the impetus to get up and out in it was a definite boon today.)

Fast finisher day yesterday. The tail walker at Whinlatter was back in less than 40 minutes.

Dvorak, you can leave it very late at Juniors to get volunteers. Firstly, people don’t know if they are coming until late in the week (so don’t volunteer until late) and secondly a shout out before the run brief will always get you the volunteers you need (there's usually as many adults as juniors at ours and many don’t run with their children).

For the first time in many many months if not years I made it into the run report as highest age graded lady - I guess all the fast old ladies were elsewhere this week :)

That was my chum, V'rap. She probably just wanted to walk and some bugger made her run.

Rich, that's almost exactly what she said when she came through the finish :)
