Made it to Bedfont Lakes this morning - thanks again for the tip. Apologies if I missed anybody.

Nice park and the people seemed friendly enough but it was very different being a tourist rather than a member of the core team - nothing to get involved in except the run. Also interesting to compare the two runs - by comparison to what I'm used to (Fell Foot - Lake District), the run was virtually flat, almost entirely free of mud and rather narrow in places. There was a very different demographic too - far fewer females and families than I'm used to and, based on the results, a different age profile. How does 21st place earn me top V50? Last week I was 8th (in a much smaller field) and finished 3rd V50. I think I should probably get out more and adjust my perception of what constitutes 'normal' :)

It’s one of the things I love about parkrun tourism, the demographic varies widely.

Glad you enjoyed it CumbriAndy. Its a lovely park in Spring and Summer so hopefully today was a good representation. As a former landfill and gravel pit I love the fact it is now a park with various wildlife.

I particularly love the goats when they are around - I often see them when I run past late at night and they are chewing the rough trees near the fences :)

It is also very different from other local parkruns.

In other news, we are going to do Florence in early May. We are also spending two days in Geneva (neither a parkrun day though). If its nice we will probably go back to do the parkrun just over the border as very easy on the train!

Couldn't convince the teenager in my life to get up at 630 for a 7am departure, so no Elgin tourism for us.

Maybe next season!!

Took me 26 parkruns but I finally fell over at one today. Very muddy course at Marple and my footwear wasn't really adequate so I slipped onto my back taking a corner. Great fun though!
