It's helpful to have a series of programmes around the theme of mental health. I'll track down Nadiya Hussein's programme.

Meanwhile, on 21 May 2019, Alastair Campbell is contributing to a programme on depression. It was all too easy for me to make the apparent link between Campbell and Malcolm Tucker but Campbell has been a long-term sufferer of depression.

Gp wants me to take for anxiety and depression... i’ve not started yet as hubby is away and she said i may well feel more anxious and suicidal to start with (and so i don’t want to take when on my own with children). I’m reluctant anyway - i took OD (whilst an inpatient) of amytriptyline years ago, and have resisted drug assistance when i’ve had relapses over the years because of this. She specifically thinks it’ll help quieten the constant debates going on in my head that tbh are exhausting and generally enable to think a bit more clearly/cope with situations etc, but as i say i’m nervous in specifically relating to suicidal/self-harm tendancies, but also don’t won’t to feel like i’ve lost control of my thoughts etc if that makes sense. Whilst exhausting the chatter in my head is also comforting - what i’m used to i suppose.. she wants me to start with 25mg for a week before increasing to 50mg. Nausea as a common side effect also concerns me as i have emetophobia!

Nadiya’s programme was Weds night on bbc 1

The only side effect I had from Sertraline was 2 weeks of squits. It did allow me to function.

Son2 also had stomach issues and nausea (wasn't actually sick) when switched to Setraline

I've been on sertraline for around 12 months.. Only side effect I've had is slightly odd dreams/nightmares on a couple of occasions. For me, despite the crazy dreams, of worked better Tb. Fluoxetine/prozac which I was on for 6months prior to sertraline.

I'm now tapering off the sertraline, and I'm feeling slightly lightheaded/fizzy sometimes, which can be disorienting, but I've been told this will pass in a month or two.

Sertraline worked very well for me, but it did make me put on a lot of weight. My GP said this was unlikely to happen, but it really definitely was the drug, it all stopped when I stopped taking it, there was a direct correlation
