5:07 today, that's a PB :-B

Blood didn't sink again but my reading was 128 so I was OK. Tuc cheese sandwiches and chocolate bourbons, food of my childhood!

Number 52 yesterday. The range of snacks is gradually improving - mini cheddars as well as those crisps you never see anywhere else and on the sweet side there were oreos and packets of raisins, as well as the clubs and usual biscuits.

Was going to give after London, but will probably wait until after Edinburgh now. :-) G

Sadly, people who lived in the UK during the whole BSE thing aren't allowed to give blood here in NL, so that rules both me and my other half out.

We should probably look into seeing if we can drop in somewhere when we're over for the GUCR at the end of May.

I didn't know that, Raemond. I thought they could screen for it?

Got my next appointment booked for August. Remembered to make sure it was a 4 month gap this time.

When I lived in the US they wouldn't take my blood for the same reason. I don't think they do screen for it, not sure if there is a test? Would you want to know if you are a carrier of CJD though? Scary!

Oreos are NOT a biscuit improvement (imho!) Can you tell I feel strong about this. An Oreo Lemonish thing is never as good as a good old British Lemon Puff. I'm quite happy with American influx of things such as giant soft cookies, but not at the expense of a traditional British biscuit.

This may be a slightly less important point than BSE and CJD, but biscuits matter too! :-) G

I think it's a sneaky thing that doesn't show up at all until it really shows up... Or possibly it can be found but the testing procedure is expensive and time consuming and they've decided it's not worth it?

Either way, they either don't want my blood at all or don't want it *enough*.

I'll just have to buy my own biscuits. At the moment I'm trying to resist the whole pack of dark chocolate hobnonbs that are on my desk - a leftover from the rations that were brought back to the office from the VMLM expo trip. It seems dutch people (and one greek) do not fully appreciate the wonder of a proper hobnob.

Happy, I meant there was improvement in the sense that there was more choice. I went for an orange club myself as a biscuit with actual chocolate on is obviously the best choice. 😀
