Running down a footpath this morning and there was a yellow bird amongst a load of sparrows on the ground. On closer inspection, it was a budgerigar, I wondered where it must have escaped from. :)

Wriggling Snake
Sitting in the garden, 6.30 am, coffee, Sparrowhawk crashes into the hedges at the far end of the garden, I got so excited a dropped my cup....he, I think it was a he sat on the fence, a bit fed up with not catching the blue tit it was after.....then flew off, not quick enough tog et my camera (inside the back door). Three times I've seen him try the same thing since the spring, it's why the camera is where it is....I'll have to have it right next to me from now on.

You'll have to let us know :).

The only one we've seen around here was on the Hebden - Keighley road, by the elephant.

Fragile Do Not Bend
I just got the best view of a wild sparrowhawk I’ve ever seen, I was at my kitchen window and looked up to see one perched on top of the post that the bird feeders hang off. It only stayed for about 2 seconds though 🙁

Sat at my desk at work a few years back I saw a sparrowhawk catch a wood pigeon for its evening meal, feet away from me. It made a right mess of the lawn.
