DT Wrens were very active here as well today. They seemed to be everywhere on my morning run. Very visible as well, rather than just vocal.

Can't see blue tits hybridising with ltts; they are a different genus, so not closely related.

I checked too- there are some known hybrids, but not that one- must just be a variation with slightly longer tails.

In one tree this morning there were blueys, two great tits and half a dozen ltts- keeping to their own kind and easy to tell apart

I sometimes see great tits that appear much bigger (plumper actually) than normal. There must be variation in size in small birds (there certainly is in bigger birds eg raptors)

I’m going for a walk at some point today and my target species is, you guessed it, chiffchaff

No chiffs here yet.

A pair of goosander on the river this morning when I was feeding the hens, and a roe deer nearby.

On a lunchtime run, lots of curlew and lapwing, plus a pair of oyks and a pair of redshank. Drumming gsw.

Main highlight of today's run through my local patch, a Cetti's warbler in full, loud song, sat on a branch about 10 feet away from me, clearly visible. Best view of one I've ever had, by far. Also oystercatchers, which I don't think I've seen here before. And now multiple chiffchaffs singing (sorry, DT!).
